Practical Manufacturability

Learn how to drive cost out of YOUR products!

CNC Turn/Mill Parts

At Manufacturing Services, we practice what we like to call, “practical manufacturability.” This means manufacturing your parts in a way that makes the most sense. Because let’s face it: who wouldn’t want to get their products faster, while saving money in the process?

That is what MSI has to offer. We strive to be more than just another supplier. We want to be your partner. Our goal is to work with you to accomplish the production process in the smoothest, most economical way possible.

Because of this, we have become one of North Carolina’s most unique manufacturers, offering CNC Turn/Milling, Thermoset and Thermoplastic Injection Molding and Multi-Spindle Screw Machining.

Practical Manufacturability

If we notice that changing the O.D on your part to match the O.D. of the material used will save you time and money, we will let you know.

If we notice that switching to a different, more machinable material will make production easier, saving you time and money, we will let you know.

Many times, some tolerances are tougher to run than others. If we notice changing one will speed up production, we will bring it to your attention for you to decide.

At MSI, when we notice small changes that can be made to make
production more efficient and cost effective for you, we will bring it to your attention. We leave it up to you to decide if the suggested changes will still enable your product to meet it’s requirements.

Real World Application

As Ken Kirby, Vice President and head of CNC operations remembers:

“A customer had a family of parts that required a different size cutter for each part. We suggested that if a standard size cutter could be used on the whole family of parts, it would save them money on set-up time and tooling costs. They looked at the feasibility of it, and decided it was OK.”

Over the years, we have had a lot of experience reviewing and machining many different products. Let us help you drive your production cost down by working together and implementing our “practical manufacturability” principals. We have experience reviewing prints and are always happy to make suggestions.
Please feel free to contact MSI and our knowledgeable staff will use our experience to help make your products more machinable.
